pallet chair

Andrew Montgomery is a furniture designer and maker who takes the found, salvaged, commonplace materials and transforms them into elegant and spare furniture pieces and objects.

From clunky discarded palette wood, Montegomery shapes, trims, laminates these chairs with a delicate profile, finishes the wood with bees wax and polishes by hand.

For THE FLOOR LAMP there is an ingenious efficiency in the use of a common steel angle- split open at the bottom for a base and fitted with a LED light fixture.

Made from found materials this STOOL with a thick wood top is finished only on one end exposing the natural texture on the remaining three sides. An beautifully spare steel base is brushed finished by hand.

COFFEE TABLE makes use of a single flat stainless steel bar, laser cut and folded
to create a minimal base for a beautifully finished oak top. Hand cut dove tail joints and
2 way sliding drawer are another example of efficiency in design and function.

It is as if Montgomery sees through the roughness of his material and brings out their finest and best hidden traits, and then applies an ingenious approach to constructing
his very well conceived work.

Montgomery Design furniture is handmade, available as special order.
