Since 1987 Finnish Designer/Founder Ritva Puotila has taken paper yarn and created a vast array of materials and products for the home.

Woodnotes is a Finnish design company founded in 1987 by textile designer Ritva Puotila and her son Mikko. The company began by making carpets from paper yarn but has since expanded to include a wide range of products from window blinds and wall partitions to furniture and accessories.

Environmental concerns play a central role in all of Woodnote’s products. Their paper yarn is spun from durable heavyweight paper that can be recycled or burned to produce energy, and all products are biodegradable and employ only natural dyes.
